Two Alarm Dwelling Fire in Monroeville

Just before 11am, Monroeville Communications dispatched the structure assignment for a house fire on Vanderbilt drive in District 5.  First arriving units discovered a heavily involved single family dwelling fire. C-10 (Chief Beltz) established command. Engine 12 laid a supply line and attack lines were pulled from both Engine 51 and Engine 12.  A second alarm was called for additional manpower and mutual aid EMS units were called in to assist. Units operated on scene for several hours. Two firefighters were transported to the hospital and released. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal. Thanks to all agencies who assisted and to Pitcairn and Turtle Creek Fire Departments for standing by in our station during the incident.
