 <![CDATA[The Monroeville FIre Department would like to invite anyone and everyone to a special event we are holding for the FIRST&nbsp;TIME EVER!!!

August 18th, 2012 the 5 Monroeville Fire&nbsp;Companies will be hosting a Fire/EMS Community Day&nbsp;at the&nbsp;Monroeville Public Safety Training Center from 10am-3pm.&nbsp;

This&nbsp;event will give some insight to all as to the equipment, tasks, training, education, information, displays we all take on when joining&nbsp;the MFD.&nbsp;

There will be displays, food, demos, videos, training information, potential membership information, and events all over the training grounds. It will be a great time and perhaps&nbsp;many questions will get answered about who we are and what we do.&nbsp;

So plan a few hours to come out and visit,&nbsp;we welcome EVERYONE!!!! An agenda for the day will be comming soon and a mailing as well. Hope to see you there

 <![CDATA[This evening during weekly drill communications was notified by Engine 51 off a transformer arching with a possible brush fire.&nbsp; Company 1 was alerted and responded with Engine 12.&nbsp; Once on scene with Engine 51 it was determined wires had been arching and set off a small gas can located in a driveway adjacent to the pole.&nbsp; The home owner had extinguished the small fire with a dry chemical extinguisher prior to the arrival of the fire department.&nbsp; All units were placed back in service.

McWilliams) arrived on scene to find a brick structure with a wooden bench on fire inside of a bus stop. Engine 12 arrived on scene and stretched a 1 3/4 bumper line.  	<title>SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH ON FRIDAY THE 13TH</title>

 <![CDATA[&nbsp;Company #1 along with Rescue-4 were dispatched for the report of a vehicle into a telephone pole into the area of Maaco Automotive.&nbsp; C-17 arrived on scene&nbsp;establishing command. Medic-18 also arrived on scene at this time. It was identified there was one vehicle off the side of the roadway facing east in the eastbound lane with heavy damage.&nbsp; Medic-18's crew began rendering aid to the victim. E-12 and Rescue-4 also arrived on scene at this time and began stabilizing the vehicle as well as fluid control. Rescue-4 crew then set up to remove the passenger side door of the vehicle to gain better access to the pt however, the pt became increasingly combative and it was determined it would be best to extricate her through the driver's side door. The pt was removed from the vehicle out of the driver side door and secured to a longboard. Pt was then placed in medic-18 and secured for transport.&nbsp;Engine 12 and Rescue 4 assisted with clean up then returned into service.Command: C-17 (Lt.  <![CDATA[5 members of station 1 traveled to Ferrara Fire Apparatus factory last week for the prebuild conference for new Engine 12. They spent just under 8hrs there reviewing the engine spec with Glyn Harding who is the production manager. They guys were also treated to a quick lunch provided by Ferrara and a walk through the plant to see all the new apparatus that is in production.  <![CDATA[Monroeville Fire Company #1 dispatched to the area of Thompson Run Road for 
smoke in the area. Company 6 was also added due to staffing. While enroute, 
dispatched advised that Wilkins Twp. Fire Marshall on scene reporting vehicle on 
fire, with brush and possibly the structure involved. A structural assignment 
was requested. Wilkins Twp. companies were dispatched by Allegheny County as 
well. Engine 12 arrived on scene and found a concrete 
pumping truck with a fully involved engine compartment fire, with a small amount 
of brush on fire. Engine 12 initiated fire attack with 200' of 2"crosslay. 
Engine 62 arrived on scene and utilized front trash line of 1 3/4. Fire was 
knocked down with water. Command (C-10) opted to soak the area down with 1%
