Sunday, January 10, 2010 - Monroeville Dispatched recieved a call from a neighbor reporting smoke from the residence on Lilac Dr. MPD arrived on scene and confirmed heavy smoke coming from bldg. Fire crews arrived and quickly went to work. Due to the low temps several of the hydrants in the area were frozen command requested Tanker 5 to the scene.
Chief 60 arrived and requested for a 2nd alarm bringing the rest of the Monroeville Fire Department to the scene. With that happening Monroeville Dispatch then moved all standby companies into Monroeville Stations. 2 Tankers from Westmoreland County (Larimer, White Valley) were also called standby. Crews finally gained control of the fire in just under 2 hours.
