Sunday, January 24, 2010 - Having began Paramedic class over one year ago, the end of a 1000 hour plus endeavor has come to a successful conclusion. In January 2010, Greg Vukich graduated CCAC's Paramedic program. This after 14 months of classroom, hospital clinical "hands on" training as well as hundreds of EMS precept calls. Having graduated the CCAC class entitled him to be able to take the NTEMT-P practical exam. He and a few other students from Monroeville FD went to Virgina to take this test. Upon the return trip, in the huge snow storm on the east coast they came upon a MVC with one DOA - Welcome to the job gentlemen. After passing the practical on the first try, he scheduled his written NREMT-P exam. After well over one- hundred questions, he left the testing facility...almost not knowing his name. Within a couple days, he had received his passing mark from NREMT-P and was now a Paramedic. He went to EMSI and received PA Paramedic certification, and scheduled his Medical Command interview. After a few hour interview with Gary at Forbes Regional Hospital, Greg received Medical Command with WPAHS. It was quite a journey, with many ups and downs, congratulations FF Paramedic Greg Vukich, MVFC1. Greg is preceded by his father, Mark, a FF Paramedic for MVFC 1 in the 70's and early 80's.
