Friday, January 22, 2010 23:59 - Friday night Monroeville Fire Companies 1,3,6 and Truck 5 were dispatched to the 3700Blk of Old Northern Pike for a possible house fire. Police arrived onscene reporting heavy smoke from house. C-15 (Captain Sonafelt) arrived shortly after and found a single story residential house with heavy smoke and fire showing from side 1 and 2 with all residents out of the house. Quint 1 and Truck 5 arrived within minutes. Quint 1 established water supply at nearby hydrant while T-5's crews were split up to assist with getting 2.5in attack line in place and also ladder the bldg and set up lights. C-10 (Chief McCollum) arrived and assumed command. Engine 12 established 2nd water supply. Crews had a knock on the fire within 15 min. Units remained onscene for a few hours to assist PD and County Fire Marshall. Station 1's new Squad unit made it's debut to assist with lighting and filling SCBA bottles.

While units were clearing up for the fire scene dispatch advised Command that there was a EMS call there needed to be handled on the area. Command released EMS unit from scene to responding to an unknown age male stabbed multiple time's in a nearby parking lot. Crews responded and transported male to downtown trauma center.
